The National Reintegration Center for OFWs as an attached office of Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Regional Welfare Office 9 released Php 330, 000.00 worth of livelihood assistance to thirty-three (33) displaced/distressed undocumented OFWs in February 2022.

The beneficiaries were from the municipalities of Labason, Salug, Liloy, Godod and Gutalac. They were given financial assistance for livelihood development under the “Balik Pinay, Balik Hanap-buhay” and “Livelihood Development Assistance Program” of NRCO. These livelihood programs of NRCO is intended to improve the socio-economic well-being of qualified undocumented OFWs.

Of the thirty-three (33) beneficiaries, some twenty-five (25) benefitted from the “LDAP”, while eight (8) under the “BPBH”. Each of them has received Php 10, 000.00 as a start-up capital or additional capital for their livelihood project.

The distribution of checks were done in Public Employment Service Office Labason held last February 10, 2022, DOLE – OWWA Liloy Satellite Office last February 11, 2022, and in PRRD Building Salug, Zamboanga del Norte last February 18, 2022.





Regional Director Ron Lionel M. Bartolome spearheaded the distribution of checks and leaving them a message and a reminder that the said assistance should be used for the intended purpose of putting-up a business only.

Hon. Mayor Eddie T. Quimbo and PESO Officer Mr. Salvador C. Macaambac in Labason, DOLE OIC Sr. LEO Mr. Roque B. Montano and LEO III Ms. Joni Sarina R. Mejico in Liloy, and Hon. Mayor Melodie Tolin in Salug, were present during awarding of checks to beneficiaries as witnesses.




Prior to the awarding of livelihood grant, the beneficiaries underwent Financial Awareness and Small Business Management Seminar last November 24, 2021 held at JKC Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte to ensure that the beneficiaries has the appropriate entrepreneurial skills before undertaking their chosen livelihood project.
