OWWA-NRCO Bicol conducted an onsite monitoring of OFW Dexter Ranola Abejuela’s livelihood undertaking at Brgy. Tugbo, Mobo, Masbate last February 11, 2022. OWWA-NRCO Bicol was assisted by his father, Mr. Efren Abejuela during the visit. According to Mr. Efren, his son-the beneficiary-is currently working in Davao.

It was in 2019 since OFW availed Php10,000.00 worth of livelihood grant under the Livelihood Development Assistance Program (LDAP), which he used as additional capital for their sari-sari store business. Per interview, currently the store has an average daily net income of Php300 pesos due to low sales brought about by the pandemic. Their business is situated near the elementary school and a power plantation. Pre-pandemic days, their customers were usually students and workers from the nearby offices. However, since there were no students and teachers reporting in a daily basis so their income was affected. Yet, it was a success that their business was able to stand still despite the pandemic.

Livelihood Development Assistance Program (LDAP) is a livelihood grant intervention intended to bring about improved socio-economic well-being of undocumented and irregular OFWs. This is a part of the components of the Livelihood Program for OFW Reintegration (LPOR) of the National reintegration Center for OFWs.
