OWWA Region 5 awarded One Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php 100, 000.00), the first Tranche livelihood assistance under the Tulong PUSO Program, to San Nicolas Canaman OFW Family Circle Association - the first OFC to receive the grant in Canaman, Camarines Sur on February 15, 2022.

The association was grateful as OWWA Bicol braved the water to San Nicolas, Canaman to award the check to the beneficiaries and for the opportunity to establish the business in the area as it will bring the agricultural supplies closer to the farmers in their barangay. Canaman’s Public Employment Service Office Manager Clarissa Alto also attended the awarding to show the support of the local government and promised to guide the association as they venture in the agri-business.



Afterwards, a reorientation was personally conducted by OWWA Bicol, headed by the OIC-Regional Director Jenivie Diaz-Aguallo, to the focal persons of other OFW Family Circles in Canaman, Camarines Sur in the hope of granting more OFCs who applied for the Tulong PUSO Program.

Other OFW Family Circles coming from Sua, Talibtib, San Roque, Palo and Pangpang, Canaman, Camarines Sur was reoriented by OWWA Bicol to give tips and guide them in the successful preparation of their business proposal. This was to search more OFCs with probability of being a grantee of the program.  

OWWA Bicol continuous to be active in searching and implementing the Tulong PUSO Program to provide an avenue for the OFCs in having a sustainable business for the members, especially those OFW-members who were repatriated due to the pandemic.
